Q + A on ROPS...
  • Q: Will my ROPS/FOPS be certified to Australian standard?
A: Yes, all ROPS/FOPS are tested to AS2294 and IOS3471:2008 before certification.

  • Q: Why install a ROPS/ FOPS to my vehicle?
A: All Earthworks Equipment, Service Trucks and Water Carts require ROPS/FOPS to be installed before going on any mine site in Australia. ROPS/FOPS save lives and can protect your most valuable asset, your employee.

  • Q: what type of machines can ROPS/FOPS be fitted to?
A: Hino, Mack, Freightliners, Kenworth, Isuzu, Mercedes, Tatra, Mitsubishi, Sterling, Volvo Trucks, Forklifts, Rollers, Frontend Loaders, Graders and Cranes.

  • Q: How much load space is required to fit a ROPS/FOPS?
A: In most cases we will require around 350mm of chassis space to fit a ROPS/FOPS. However Xpress Mining Services are licensed truck modifiers ( license number MR252 ) and can make all the required modifications to fit all ROPS/FOPS.

  • Q: Will this increase the overhead clearance of my machine?
A: Yes, installing ROPS/FOPS will increase the height above the cabin around 200mm on fixed cab and bonnet designed trucks. On forward tilting cabs this will increase to around 500mm to 600mm depending on truck or machinery type. If the extra clearance height above the cabin is a problem our hydraulic ROPS/FOPS can be fitted.

  • Q: Where would I use a hydraulic ROPS/FOPS?
A: Hydraulic ROPS/FOPS is best used on forward tilting cabs where the clearance above the cabin needs to be kept to a minimum or the appearance of the truck needs to be kept orderly.

  • Q: Turnaround time?
A: As our Drafting, Engineering, fabrication, Sandblasting, Painting and Installations are all done in house, our turnaround times are efficient, we allow 5 to 8 working days.

  • Q: Can a ROPS/FOPS be easily removed?
A: Although initially there is a lot of work involved in the installation of our ROPS/FOPS it is relatively easy to remove if damaged or needs to be relocated onto another vehicle in the future.

  • Q: Will my ROPS/FOPS need to be re-certified in the future?
A: We recommend that your ROPS/ FOPS be tested and recertified every 2 years.

  • Q: Can ROPS/FOPS come in different colours?
A: Yes ROPS/FOPS can come in any colour you wish, the ROPS/FOPS can be colour matched to you cabin.
